Minimum requirement to defeat NPC !

There is a list for MINIMUM mech+weapon requirement  over NPC?
-What is the minimum requirement to defeat NPC 170 ~ 250 ?
-And the higher.

Yes, that's a question. In general, we can draw several grades:

F - defeat no matter what, "tournament style"
E - defeat, but accepting some level of inevitable loses,
D - defeat with calculated sacrifice,
C - defeat, but small risk of unwanted looses remains,
B - defeat whithout looses, but repairs are accepted,
A - defeat with no injury nor even a shield lost, guaranteed.

Anything less than C grade seems to be inappropriate speaking about npc farming, the whole point is to generate income afterall. D grade maybe could be considered for artifact capture missions.

Another question can be tech level: tesla guns, kinetic projectors and EMP bombs can do things almost unthinkable for rg1 and assault rifles; also mech tier is highly relevant, for example you can defeat any number of light defense turrets with just single high-tech spider tank, but need about n+1 pumas to avoid risk of looses in the same mission.



To finally answer the current question about 170-250 npc: I don't know how minimal that is, but think, two vultures with LRRs should do the job, B garade at least. Truly minimum should be tweaked for each individual case, but this is highly unpredictable npc, and scouting it would be nonsense.
At higher tech levels I use single puma with 3x AMG or 1x RG2, CP, AFF, 2x LTP for B grade, to archive A grade two of such must be sent.

A guide based on typical Mechs and weapons player has when he hits first NPC of a specifc size would be nice, but I didn't play since a long time.

that is dependent on your play style and mech preferences

for example a 150-250 can be taken down with 2 pumas with 7 MG and 2 LTP  or 1 puma with 3 LRR's and 2 LTP's but you'll leave resources behind

in general i use:

puma 3 PLR's 2 LTP's (1 cap upgrade) for 150-250
2x Athlas with 7 PLR's 4 LTP's for 250-400
3x athlas with 7 PLR's  4 LTP's for 400-600

A few things you should know before attacking your first npc

a) the battle system. (This is very important because in this game its not only about numbers of troops)
   ---- use the simulator to understand what is going on in battles. use the "visualize" button and watch what happens
   ---- simulate some battles with a single raptor against another single raptor first. use different weapons and tactics to understand what is going on

b) what are the troops you are supposed to find in the npc you want to attack
   ---- there are some specific mech combination in each npc size
   ---- every major alliance can provide you with a list of the npc armies ( but for some strange reason, you will not find anything in the open forums)

c) with a) and b) you can design your own solution for the npc you want to attack. check it in the simulator against all possible npc armies before actually attacking. Finding solutions for different npcs with what you actually have is one of the best parts of this game.

BTW in an 150-250 npc, you encounter always a single raptor . the arming of this raptor varies.

I come from a NPC when I sent the army consumes 150% of the maximum wear of the NPC cells and usually have a good outcome
